Lone
Pine opens it's trout season approximately two months earlier than anywhere
else in the Eastern Sierra. It is kicked off with the Early Opener Trout Derby
on the first Saturday in March. Our steams and lakes are stocked regulary
by the California Department of Fish and Game with Rainbow and Brown Trout.
Come and enjoy the out of the way streams and ponds where you can fish for
not only trout but bass and catfish too!
Try a pack trip or hike into the Golden
Trout Wilderness Area where you will find beautiful Goldern Trout. Some of
these areas require permits and allow catch-and-release fishing techniques.
Lone Pine is Golden Trout Headquarters. If you are interested in our Certificate for catching a Golden Trout please call 760.876.4444 or email us at: info@lonepinechamber.org.
